About our Speakers:
John Bennett has served as a Children and Family Minister for 25 years. For 5 years of his ministry John served as the Preschool/Children’s Ministry Consultant for the Kentucky Baptist Convention. John currently works for Ministry Architects, a consulting firm that travels across the US doing training and consulting with churches and their children and family ministries. Prior to entering the ministry John worked as a Child and Family Therapist. John has a BA Degree in Social Work from Western Kentucky University, a MA Degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville, and a MA Degree in Christian Education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. John and his wife Angela live in Simpsonville, Ky. They have two children. Rachel (19) is a sophomore at Western Kentucky University and Johnathan (17) is a senior in high school.
Laura Brewer and husband Dave are empty-nesters, married for 33 years. She has two married sons, a married daughter and a 20 year old ‘baby’ in college. She loves traveling with Dave, Bible study, exercising and spending time with her funny, precious children by birth and by marriage! Laura was hugely involved in Moms in Prayer all through her children’s school years. She currently works in prison ministry, MOMS Together serving as a mentor mom, and as a Bible study table leader at southeast Christian church. She has a heart to leverage her life so that others will know Him and grow as believers!
Cheri Cagle is a graduate of Georgetown College, with a Bachelor’s in Communications and a minor in Religion. She is currently a substitute teacher. She has been married to her husband, Greg, for 19 years. She has 2 children: Paxton, 16, and Savannah, 12. Though her mothering skills are far from perfect, her desire to live out this God-given role is priority in her life. She wants her children and others to not just be “Christians,” but to live as zealous warriors for the cause of Christ in a culture that is constantly contradicting biblical living.
Zsuzsi Costanzo is a practicing School Psychologist at the Kentucky School for the Blind. She has worked with families and children ages 2 through 21 providing counseling services, diagnosis, as well as parenting support. Zsuzsi obtained her graduate degree from the University of Kentucky and has worked in both public school and private practice. She is the proud parent of a three year old and has been married to her best friend for 10 years.
Erin Creekmore is a newlywed to husband, Trey. They are co-parenting six children, ages 5-14, with their respective mothers and fathers. They enjoy worship and service with the PHOS church family. Erin has the privilege of serving families in Southern Indiana as an in-home therapist through a contract with the Department of Children’s Services and couldn’t be more excited to join you in exploring the MOMents of motherhood.
Kristy Reeder Crouch has been teaching in the classroom for 12 years. She is currently a middle school teacher who teaches her students about living out servant lives. She was born and raised in Bowling Green, KY and has been a resident of Louisville for 7 years. She holds degrees from Eastern Kentucky University, Western Kentucky University, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She is married to Gordon, and they have a two-year old little boy, Jameson Micah. She has taught students from pre-school through college, and has simultaneously worked in student ministry throughout her teaching career. She has traveled globally and has worked with ministry on four continents.
Marcie Hughes has been married to Scott for 20 years. They have 3 children ages 11-16. She has a passion for marriage God’s way and praying with women throughout their journey in life. Quiet time with the Lord and studying God’s word has been life changing to her! Seeing God at work and hearing His stories keep her inspired to do His work for the kingdom. She homeschools as well and understands juggling marriage and work!
Kelly James served on staff at Crestwood Baptist for 10 years working with college students and women. She graduated from Southern Seminary in 2003 with a Master’s of Divinity in Theology. But most importantly, Kelly has been married to Chad for the last 15 years and is learning everyday how to parent Riley, 10, Jake, 8 and Claire, 5. Kelly Loves Jesus and wants to make Him practical in her kids’ lives. Kelly has served and helped to lead in both “MOMS Together,” a community Moms Group that strives to Make Our Mothering Significant Together, and is a founding member creating the Real Moms Conference.
Gina Russell has a passion for the Lord & serving women. She has a degree in Marketing and Business and worked in the corporate marketing arena for seven years at Bacon’s Department Stores, Churchill Downs & Nextel. Gina felt the Lord leading her to give up the corporate world for ministry as she joined the Southeast Christian Church staff in Women’s Ministry in February of 2003. She had already volunteered as a bible study leader for over eight years before taking on the challenge of leading the Women’s Ministry in the areas of Bible studies, events & outreach. When the Lord had another plan and blessed her family with children He called her home to minister to them where she continues to serve today. She and her husband, Chad have four active boys, Jallen, Jaxon, Judah & Justus, who consume most of her time!
